If so, there is now a TiVo application for the Storm! Just recently, BlackBerry application developers have made this tool to give you better control of your TiVo while on-the-go.

This new application will appear similarly like a TiVo remote, and will let you browse/select categories, daily picks, and popular shows.

The features of this nifty application include:

Program your favorite shows to watch from anywhere.

Browse quickly and seamlessly with help of an easy-to-navigate menu with a familiar TiVo design.

Scroll through your channel listings directly from your Storm.

Precise searching by title, keyword, and actor.

For best performance of this application on your Storm, I have provided these requirements below:

An active Series2 / Series3 standalone TiVo Digital Video Recorder (DVR).

Approximately 335KB of storage space available on your Storm’s memory.

Version 4.2+ of your BlackBerry OS.

You can download this free application from from your Storm’s browser here, or download it from BlackBerry App World.

Please feel free to leave a comment on any feedback you have on this handy TiVo application!

The microblogging social network of Twitter is a very powerful and popular way to let your friends know what are you doing within 140 characters. With this in mind, it gets more popular with its integration with mobile/cellular devices.

I have provided some applications below that you can use on your Storm to interact with and post to Twitter, and to find the one that best fits you.

TwitterBerry – A simple application that lets you view your friend’s Twitter timeline, includes integration with TwitPic, and also lets you update your tweets in portrait and landscape orientation.

This application can be downloaded straight onto your Storm from here.

SocialScope – This is one of the newest Twitter to arrive for the Storm. This application has a sleek, clean layout that allows you to simultaneously post your status on Twitter and Facebook together. Another feature is, instead of one of your friend’s tweet reporting “5 minutes ago from web,” it will actually specify the exact time the tweet was posted. You can also sort tweets by a specific user as well.

This application can be downloaded straight onto your Storm from here.

ÜberTwitter – This is also another recently-developed Twitter application that is getting a lot of attention. With this application, you are able to upload a picture to ÜberTwitter‘s own servers (instead of TwitPic), update your Twitter and Google Talk statuses simultaneously, and also update your location in relation to the cellphone tower that is closest to you.

This application can be downloaded straight onto your Storm from here.

Please feel free to leave any feedback about these awesome applications in our comments section!

Does anyone remember this commercial? This was the first televised commercial that advertises the Storm during an episode of How I Met Your Mother.

I thought I would post this to communicate how far the Storm has come.

Just recently, I have been looking at comparative prices of the BlackBerry Storm, and a lot of well-known retailers are starting to drop their prices. According to eBay, Storms are starting to sell for $500+ dollars, which approximately was the price of them when they first were released on the market.

If you are looking to buy a Storm from a retailer (online/in-store), you will now see that prices are starting to average lower than the release price. I have specified a table below specifying the prices from big name retailers.

Store

Price

Verizon Wireless

$199

Amazon

$149

NewEgg

$199

If you are looking into buying a Storm now or sometime in the future, now is the best time to get one!
